Grade Breakdown:
Project Documentation:
Documentation is a very important aspect of art making and will be a crucial component to this class. Students will create a website for their art during the first week of class. It is an expectation that students will update their sites upon project completion. Websites maintenance will be graded after students have turned in their projects and rubrics. Project documentation will be included in the rubric.
Art II students are required to create a website and place their documented work there. Websites will be created using Weebly, and should include photos of the project and an artistic statement. Students are encouraged to personalize their sites and not to be limited to just projects from this class.
Grading Scale:
90-100=A
80-89= B
70-79=C
60-69= D
Less than 60= F
Note: While talent is not required motivation and effort are.
Homework:
There will be very little homework if students manage their time wisely. The only exception being the Art Journal/Sketchbook which will be submitted weekly for grade.
Extra Credit:
Extra credit will be offered to help remediate any missing points. Once all work is completed and turned in students will have the opportunity to select an art task card project of their choice to work on independently. The project will be graded with a rubric and will added to the final grade as extra credit.
Absences/Tardies:
If you are going to be absent, speak to me to gather assignments and/or to schedule a time make up lost studio time. Students will be given plenty of time in class to complete all assignments, however, chronic absences and tardiness will affect your grade. The result will be missed studio time and you will be expected to make up your work outside of class.
Cell Phone Policy:
Cell Phones are allowed in class for two purposes, project documentation and for students who like to create while listening to music. I am firm believer in the correlation of music and art but I do not allow texting in class. If a student is caught texting during art, their cell phone will be taken, and put on my desk until the end of class.
